population has increased rapidly, the proportion of elderly individuals aged 65 and older has surpassed 18% of the total population. Coupled with the impact of the pandemic, the issue of insufficient resources for the elderly has become serious. Many older adults are unable to meet their basic needs due to a lack of medical, economic, and social support, leading to a decline in their quality of life. Furthermore, district services and long-term care facilities faced restrictions during the pandemic, causing many elderly individuals to lose their daily support, which has resulted in feelings of isolation and marginalization in society. This reflects a clear inadequacy in resource allocation and policy support in Taiwan.<br>The government should strengthen social security to address the issue of resource inadequacy for the elderly, increasing social welfare and medical support for older adults to ensure they have access to the necessary resources to meet their basic living needs and health requirements.<br>Additionally, existing laws and policies should be improved to guarantee that the elderly enjoy equal rights in accessing resources and services. Strengthening home care services, enhancing community services, and establishing long-term care facilities can significantly improve the quality of life for older adults and meet their specific needs. This not only helps reduce pressure on medical resources but also lowers hospitalization costs and enhances their sense of social participation.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-essential-blocks-accordion\"><div class=\"eb-parent-wrapper eb-parent-eb-accordion-t0lb75f \"><div class=\"eb-accordion-container eb-accordion-t0lb75f\" data-accordion-type=\"accordion\" data-tab-icon=\"fas fa-align-justify\" data-expanded-icon=\"fas fa-align-center\"><div class=\"eb-accordion-inner\">\n<div class=\"eb-accordion-item-z1fkrwv eb-accordion-wrapper\" data-clickable=\"false\"><div class=\"eb-accordion-title-wrapper\" tabindex=\"0\"><span class=\"eb-accordion-icon-wrapper\"><span class=\"fas fa-align-justify eb-accordion-icon\"><\/span><\/span><h4 class=\"eb-accordion-title\">\u5275\u4f5c\u52d5\u6a5f<\/h4><\/div><div class=\"eb-accordion-content-wrapper\"><div class=\"eb-accordion-content\">\n<p>Our aim in participating in this competition is to improve our English skills and gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan\u2019s sustainability issues.<br>In recent years, as Taiwan\u2019s society has aged rapidly, the proportion of elderly people has steadily increased. However, in the face of demographic shifts and the impact of the pandemic, the problem of insufficient resources for the elderly has worsened, further affecting their quality of life. Many elderly people, due to declining labor capacity, economic downturns, a shortage of caregivers, and inadequate medical resources, are unable to meet their basic living needs.<br>Especially under the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the operations of community services and long-term care institutions have been restricted, leaving many elderly individuals without daily support. Those who once depended on these services now feel marginalized in society. This situation highlights Taiwan\u2019s significant shortcomings in resource allocation and policy support. Many elderly people in grassroots communities lack proper care and attention.<br>The government should strengthen social welfare and medical support, as well as enhance home care and community services, to improve the quality of life for the elderly. Facing this social reality, we hope that through this competition, we can raise awareness about the well-being of the elderly, draw attention to the insufficient allocation of resources for them, and create a more secure and caring environment for Taiwan\u2019s elderly population.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"eb-accordion-item-lj6ugc0 eb-accordion-wrapper\" data-clickable=\"false\"><div class=\"eb-accordion-title-wrapper\" tabindex=\"0\"><span class=\"eb-accordion-icon-wrapper\"><span class=\"fas fa-align-justify eb-accordion-icon\"><\/span><\/span><h4 class=\"eb-accordion-title\">\u5fc3\u5f97\u8207\u53cd\u601d<\/h4><\/div><div class=\"eb-accordion-content-wrapper\"><div class=\"eb-accordion-content\">\n<p>This competition has given us a profound understanding of the many challenges faced by the elderly. We have explored the obstacles that affect the quality of life for older adults and gained a deeper insight into the insufficiencies in Taiwan\u2019s resource allocation and policy support for them. In the past, Taiwan\u2019s extended family structures and close-knit social connections provided elderly people with more support. However, with the rapid pace of urbanization, shrinking family sizes, and the impact of the pandemic, many elderly individuals are now struggling to access sufficient economic, medical, and caregiving resources, leading to a decline in their quality of life. The pandemic has further highlighted the gaps in community care, leaving some elderly people feeling isolated and helpless.<br>Through this competition, we hope to raise awareness of the issue of insufficient resource allocation for the elderly and encourage more attention to their well-being, so that they can receive adequate resources. Beyond government efforts to strengthen welfare and medical resources, we can also help by organizing community activities. If everyone can contribute a little, together we can create a more elderly-friendly and inclusive society, allowing seniors to feel supported by the community.<br>Finally,This competition has not only helped us realize the importance of sustainable development in Taiwan but has also enhanced our English skills, enabling us to clearly describe Taiwan\u2019s current sustainability issues in English. Additionally, it has allowed us to gain a better understanding of AI image-generation software.
