作品英文描述
This painting depicts a scene in front of a temple where traditionally, during events like the Lunar New Year, people would set off firecrackers, causing air pollution. The temple is situated amidst serene greenery and mountains, but a thick haze of smoke envelops the air, casting a somber tone over this sacred place.
However, the scene is changing. Beside the temple, a group of people is gathered, but instead of traditional firecrackers, they hold smokeless firecrackers. These firecrackers emit no harmful smoke or chemicals, preserving the air’s freshness and purity.
創作動機
As a university student suffering from respiratory allergies, I’ve experienced firsthand the detrimental effects of setting off firecrackers on air quality. Every Lunar New Year or festive occasion fills me with anxiety and discomfort because it means nearby temples will be setting off a plethora of firecrackers, filling the air with harmful smoke and chemicals. This isn’t just physical torment; it’s also a mental ordeal.
So I decided to make this the theme in hopes of drawing more attention to celebrating in a more civilized manner.
心得與反思
The painting depicts the transition from traditional firecrackers to smokeless alternatives, mirroring my journey as a university student with respiratory allergies. The scene in the painting reminds me of the anxiety and distress I feel during celebrations, as well as the process of seeking solutions to protect my health.
Smokeless firecrackers not only represent an eco-friendly choice but also a contribution to our society, making our celebrations more enjoyable and healthy.
