In the first image, a young male couple is walking hand in hand down a city street, their expressions gentle yet determined. The crowd around them reacts with a mix of surprise, curiosity, and even whispered judgments about the couple. The second image creates a strong contrast, showcasing the couple’s courage to stay together despite others’ stares. Since the legalization of same-sex marriage in Taiwan, societal acceptance of diverse family structures has increased. This gay couple holds hands on the street, smiling warmly at each other, radiating a happy, family-like atmosphere. The people around them also smile kindly. In the background, someone holds a waving rainbow flag, symbolizing LGBTQ+ pride and unity, representing respect and inclusion for diversity.
Taiwan’s annual Pride events are more than just a platform for minority self-expression; they advocate for social equality and challenge gender stereotypes. During these parades, many same-sex couples and their children are seen, showcasing a variety of family forms.
創作動機
Taiwan is at the forefront of promoting gender equality in Asia, and we have made significant progress in both legal development and social advocacy. Despite some achievements, Taiwan still faces many challenges, including the existence of gender stereotypes, workplace gender discrimination, and the need to improve understanding and acceptance of gender diversity.
Therefore, through the design of this postcard, we convey the importance of gender equality and inspire people to think and discuss this issue. I hope that the postcards can resonate with viewers, allowing them to reflect on their own stance and actions on gender equality issues while viewing the postcards.
We learned how to express these important ideas in English. Mastering English enables us to promote this important issue to a wider international community. We hope to raise awareness and discussion about gender equality among people from different cultural backgrounds, and promote the global process of gender equality.
I hope everyone who sees this postcard can feel the power of gender equality and actively practice this concept in their daily lives. We look forward to this competition becoming a platform for more people to care about and promote the future of gender equality togethe.
心得與反思
In our English class, learning about AI-generated imagery gave me a new perspective on the importance of English. Through English, We are able to understand and engage more deeply with discussions and expressions of global issues, and we can more effectively interpret and describe themes such as gender equality, inclusiveness, and social harmony. Using English to discuss AI-generated imagery has not only improved my language skills but also taught us how to use precise vocabulary to convey perspectives on inclusiveness and diversity within LGBTQ+ culture. This learning experience reminds me that language learning is not just about mastering words, but about helping me understand global issues more deeply and express my reflections from a broader perspective.
