作品英文描述
This two-postcard series explores the significant impact of technology (TCE 8) on equality (SDG 10) and education (SDG 4) in Taiwan.
Postcard 1, “”The Severed Root,”” illustrates a critical challenge. It shows a magnificent ancient tree, symbolizing our cultural heritage (TCE 7). This tree is split. One half, in a modern city, thrives as its roots turn into glowing fiber-optic cables (TCE 8), accessing innovation. The other half, in a rural area, shows these digital roots are broken. This “”digital divide”” represents a deep inequality (SDG 10) , blocking access to quality education (SDG 4) and lifelong learning (TCE 11).
Postcard 2, “”The Woven Forest,”” presents our ideal vision. The broken roots are healed, not just with cold infrastructure, but with a “”symbiotic network.”” Here, technology (TCE 8) is woven with local culture, visualized as bioluminescent vines that integrate traditional craft patterns (TCE 5). This new network bridges the gap, empowering inclusive education (SDG 4). It shows technology as a partner, helping to preserve history (TCE 7) and build a truly equitable and sustainable future (SDG 10).
創作動機
Taiwan is often called a “”Tech Island”” (TCE 8), globally recognized for its innovations. However, beneath this success, I observe a significant gap: the digital divide. This divide is not just about internet speed; it is about fundamental inequalities (SDG 10) in education (SDG 4) and opportunity.
Resources are heavily concentrated in urban centers, leaving rural students and elderly citizens disconnected from the fast-paced digital world. My motivation for this project is to explore a critical question: Is technology (TCE 8) widening this gap, or can it be a tool to reduce inequality (SDG 10)? I wanted to imagine a sustainable future where technology does not replace culture but instead integrates with local heritage (TCE 7) and community, creating truly inclusive opportunities for all.
心得與反思
Using AI for this project was a really interesting experience. The hardest part was figuring out how to show a complex idea like “”inequality”” in just one picture. It wasn’t easy.
I had these ideas in my head, like “”broken digital roots”” or “”glowing vines mixed with traditional art”” . When I typed these prompts into the AI, I was honestly surprised by the results. The images it created were often more powerful than I had imagined.
This process made me think hard about the topic. To get a good image, I had to be very clear about what the “”challenge”” looked like and what the “”ideal”” future should be. I learned that AI isn’t just a fun tool; it’s a new way to tell a story. “”The Woven Forest”” isn’t just a cool picture. For me, it’s a visual reminder of the inclusive and sustainable future we can build, one that respects our culture.
