作品英文描述

The first postcard portrays the process of urbanization, where farmlands are redeveloped, species habitats are destroyed, and the contrast between skyscrapers in the background and fields in the foreground highlights the tragedy of sustainability imbalance, symbolized by the forsaken silhouette of animals. The second postcard depicts indigenous Taiwanese society as one that harmoniously coexists with nature. Their millet fields preserve valuable agricultural biodiversity. Such agricultural culture not only enhances Taiwan’s food self-sufficiency but also represents a significant cultural heritage and serves as a catalyst for sustainable solutions.

創作動機

The reason I chose to focus on indigenous agricultural culture is because I once visited an indigenous tribe in Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County as part of my school curriculum to learn about millet culture. This experience was highly educational and inspiring. During that time, I discovered that within the traditional culture of the Atayal tribe, there are many different varieties of millet used for various purposes. The diversity of species and the concept of sustainability inherent in this culture deeply impressed me. I couldn’t help but think of the farmlands in my hometown of Changhua County, which have slowly been replaced by buildings in recent years. In addition to feeling disheartened by this, I also hope that through these two postcards, people will be reminded that Taiwan’s indigenous traditional culture holds the answers to sustainability issues.

心得與反思

Through participating in this competition, I believe we can understand the power of technology. With free drawing software, anyone can quickly create several exquisite images online that meet the standard of postcards. However, how we utilize this technology is crucial. I think this competition is very meaningful because we can convey important concepts of sustainability through AI drawing techniques, while also reminding people of the precious value of Taiwanese culture. I am honored to have this opportunity to share my love for indigenous culture with more people. I am deeply proud that Taiwan possesses such cultural assets.

As a medical student, I have long recognized that the survival of human society is closely related to us. We not only need to treat patients but also care for society. I believe promoting sustainable development is a key way to do so. Only when we value biodiversity and take action can we move towards sustainable development on the right path.
